'Young Justice' Team...1980's Style!

Here's a little "Shoulda-Woulda-Coulda"
Ret-con Lovin'!
Why on earth were there no youth-oriented teams
at DC Comics (aside from Teen Titans) in the
late 1970s, early 1980s?

There were a plethora of unused/underutilized
characters, and in the window between Teen Titans
being cancelled and New Teen Titans debuting,
there was a real vacuum!

So here are some suggestions for a
retconned team of kids and barely-legals
that could have been a fun part of the DC legacy!

How many can you name?
Additional suggestions?

Art of Homage # 15: Captain America # 109

"I Feel Like Bustin' Loose..."
New characters or new beginnings debuting by literally
(well, two-dimensionally speaking anyways!)
bursting through the comic book!
Hot damn! Who wouldn't want a comic
with so much crap in it that it was
actually spilling out of the confines of the
comic book!

Who can say what the first was for such a popular theme,
but it has been used many years, with a few particulars
(like smashing through walls and newspaper headlines)
being the more popular versions!

(Okay, so all of DC's new 52 had exploding
covers for their "0" month...I'm not putting
them all up...just a representation!)
